Hello, welcome to my first blog post! If you know me personally, you will know that I have made many failed attempts at blogging. I have wanted to create a proper blog for a while now, but a lack of audience (no one wants to talk to themselves, right?) and a level of perfectionism has stopped me from committing to it. But I enjoy writing and sharing my thoughts and opinions, so I decided to give it another go. For fun this time. And so I guess this is the beginning of my blogging journey... I hope you enjoy reading my posts as much as I enjoy writing them! And with that being said, let's get started... Milky Jelly Cleanser - Praise all the spiritual beings for blessing us with this pH-balanced, creamy gel which has quickly become my favourite cleanser. It is tough on impurities, while leaving your face feeling soft and literally glowing. Milky Jelly Cleanser can be used as a makeup remover on dry skin if you wear very minimal makeup. However, if you are trying to remove a full face, I would recommend using an oil cleanser first and then follow it with this product for your second cleanse.
Priming Moisturiser - I found myself falling in love with this product, hard. It gives my skin a smooth, plump finish. I was sceptical of using this moisturiser as a primer, as I have very oily skin which is prone to looking like a reflective surface by lunchtime. However, I found that the Priming Moisturiser worked well for me. I can apply my foundation immediately after using it, without the need of a primer. Balm Dotcom - I didn't want to like this, because there are so many lip balms out there that do the same job for half the price. For example, the 20g tin of Vaseline's Lip Therapy costs £1.95 from my nearest drug store. In comparison, a tenner for a lip balm seems rather steep. That being said, Balm Dotcom has quickly become my guilty pleasure. It comes in six flavours: Original, Birthday, Rose, Cherry, Mint and Coconut. While I wouldn't necessarily buy this product alone, I am more than happy to buy it in a set. For example, in the Balm Dotcom Trio which is a customisable three-pack that allows you to stock up on all your favourite flavours. * Instead of purchasing these product individually you can buy all three here and save money with the Phase 1 Set Boy Brow - My brows had not been living their best life until I purchased Boy Brow. If I am doing a full face, I will use this product to set my brows after using the Anastasia Beverly Hills' Dipbrow Pomade (£19) in the shade Dark Brown and NYX's Micro Brow Pencil (£8) in Expresso. But on days where I fancy a more natural look, I just use it to groom my unruly brows into place. Boy brow comes in four shades: Clear, Blond, Brown and Black. I use shade Black. Extra Tip: Boy Brow can be purchased individually or in the Boy Brow + Haloscope Duo. Generation G - This product exists in the land between lipstick and tinted balm. A swipe of this product gives you that effortless, blotted colour that only an afternoon drinking coffee with a friend or a few hours on the dance floor could emulate. Generation G comes in six shades: Zip, Leo, Crush, Jam, Cake and Like. I have only tried the shade Leo -- and was a bit underwhelmed. I was hoping that this would be my perfect barely-there nude. I'm really excited to try some of their other gorgeous shades though. Generation G can be purchased individually or in the Generation G + Lip Gloss Duo. Stretch Concealer - This is my new holy grail. It not only conceals but moisturisers (which is something you don't expect from a concealer). Despite being quite a low coverage concealer which doesn't leave my skin looking cakey or unnatural, it can hide my dark hyper-pigmentation. * Buy the Phase 2 Set here to save some money when buying these three products. The set includes: Brow, Generation G and the Stretch Concealer -- all of which are definitely daily makeup staples Perfecting Skin Tint - I have very mixed feelings when it comes to Perfecting Skin Tint. To start with, no one has perfect skin. And that's okay. We are human. However, like me, many people find it hard to overcome the insecurities that come with acne, hyper-pigmentation, blackheads etc. At one point in my life, I wouldn't step outside my front door without foundation. I can now, but it's hard. It's a constant battle between self-acceptance and self-improvement. For me, Perfecting Skin Tint seemed to be the perfect product to enhance rather than mask my natural skin. And that is this products strength and its weakness. I love that this product doesn't erase the evidence that I am a human being with blemishes and pores. It's empowering. However, it's sheer, barely-there coverage is so light I feel like there is almost no point in wearing it. So instead of reaching for it, I skip it entirely and go bare-faced. And on the days I want to cover my imperfections it makes more sense to reach for a higher coverage foundation. With all that being said I have to say that I love the dewiness of this product. So much so that I have started to mix it with my full coverage Estée Lauder's Double Wear Foundation. Instead of repurchasing my Double Wear (which is running low) I have decided to try another skin tint or BB cream. Perfecting Skin Tint has spiked my interest in the no-makeup-makeup look, and hopefully, I'll find a product that has the perfect coverage. So if you have any recommendations, let me know in the comments. Glossier You - I was super excited to receive the complimentary sample of Glossier You. Founder and CEO Emily Weiss described the scent as smelling like "your boyfriend's neck after he has been wearing cologne for eight hours" -- which is the best description of this perfume I have found. It has become my signature scent -- hopefully, I can get the full size this Christmas. And that's it. Hopefully, I will get around to trying and reviewing more products at a later date. Although, if on the off chance that anyone from the Glossier team is reading this... I'm not opposed to PR gifts... Anyway, thank you for taking time out of your day to read this post. Let me know what you think in the comments. love, Lisha x *This is not a sponsored post -- all my opinions are my own.
